  Recently, at the 13th High-tech Lithium Battery Industry Summit, GGII shared the analysis report of "Analysis of Demand for Lithium Battery Equipment in the New Round of Capacity Expansion", comprehensively analyzing lithium battery from the aspects of market demand, output value scale, innovation path, and cooperation wind direction.   The report pointed out that in 2022, the global production of new energy vehicles is expected to exceed 5.2 million, of which the Chinese market accounts for more than 50%. By then, China's lithium battery market will exceed 260GWh, of which power batteries will exceed 190GWh, and shipments will be mainly concentrated in top 10 companies.

  GGII analysis shows that under the new crown epidemic, the expansion of the power battery market is less than expected. However, in the medium and long term, the power battery market is driven by the global electrification of automobiles and still has broad space.

  At this stage, the equipment market orders mainly flow to head equipment companies. The reasons are: 1) The head equipment companies have a high degree of cooperation with end customers, and they have strong anti-risk capabilities; 2) The head equipment companies are in the customer, technology, product, Stability and capital are more advantageous; 3) Second-tier equipment companies have no obvious advantages in terms of products and technology; 4) Second-tier battery companies have slowed down in production expansion.

  Research information feedback, the head equipment companies are further widening the gap with the second-line equipment companies by improving the yield rate, innovating the process, reducing the operating cost, developing integrated equipment, and providing the semi-full line/full line model.

  Specifically, improving equipment stability and reducing loss rate is an important path for head equipment companies to increase yield. Continuous R&D direction by improving equipment technology content and production efficiency, establishing standardized and flexible modules, shortening the R&D cycle, has become its core path to reduce costs.

  Looking at the market development curve, GGII analysis shows that the domestic lithium battery equipment market still has huge room for growth. The logic is that the driving force and the growth of the digital market will continue to be expected in the future.

  In the field of power batteries, affected by the accelerated electrification of the terminal market, the global lithium battery has entered a new round of expansion competition. From 2020 to 2025, the capacity expansion plan of global power battery companies has exceeded 1,000 GWh.

  3C digital field, the digital lithium battery market has high maturity, strong continuity, and is developing towards 5G, refinement, intelligence, and miniaturization. The global share of the domestic digital field is gradually increasing and will exceed 75% in the future.

  At the level of market continuation, targeted development of specific products to match market demand; supporting head equipment companies for the introduction of additional equipment; joint battery companies for targeted development or low-cost equipment, etc.; and continuing to increase cooperation and investment with cooperative companies.

  At the level of responding to the pressure of the epidemic, similar application areas of enterprises can be developed, members can be streamlined, expenses reduced, and battery customers with higher risks can be cautiously cooperated.
