Air tightness testing is an important quality control method, which is mainly used to check whether the product has good sealing performance to prevent the leakage of internal gas or liquid. The following are some of the main reasons for air tightness testing:
In summary, airtightness testing is crucial to ensuring product safety, quality and reliability, and it is an indispensable link in modern industrial production.
2. Why do we need to do air tightness testing?
Battery pack air tightness test:
In order to protect the internal components of the battery pack from dust and rain, the dust and water protection level of the battery pack is generally required to reach IP67 or IP68. The purpose and significance of the airtightness test is to detect the sealing performance of the battery pack to ensure that it will not leak during use, thereby ensuring the safety and reliability of the battery.
Liquid cooling plate air tightness test:
There is a large amount of electrolyte inside the liquid cooling plate. If the airtightness is not good, external moisture and harmful gases will enter the battery, causing the electrolyte composition inside the battery to change, thereby affecting the battery performance and life.
In addition to the above-mentioned air tightness tests, air tightness is a very important quality indicator in some high-pressure environments or situations where gas leakage needs to be prevented, and air tightness tests are required.
3. Principle of air tightness detection
Use the airtightness leak tester to fill the battery pack cavity with dry, clean and impurity-free gas, then start to detect the internal air pressure change after a period of balanced pressure maintenance, and finally detect the air pressure drop or gas leakage flow. If the pressure drops by more than the set standard value within a certain period of time, and the air pressure drop/gas leakage flow also exceeds the set value, the airtightness of the tested product is considered unqualified; otherwise, the airtightness of the tested product is considered qualified.
4. Air tightness test tooling
Air tightness testing requires the use of air tightness testing tooling . Leave an air injection port on the air tightness testing tooling, and the air tightness leak tester injects air through this test port. Our company supports the customization of air tightness testing tooling.
